Part 1: Community Guidelines
Our Purpose
Connectango exists to help the tango community — dancers traveling to milongas, marathons, encuentros, and festivals — coordinate shared rides and spare rooms. This only works if people treat each other with the same respect and care expected on the dance floor.
1. Respect and Conduct
- Treat every host, driver, passenger, and guest with courtesy, regardless of dance level, nationality, age, or how long they've been in the community.
- No harassment, unwanted advances, discriminatory remarks, or predatory behavior — on the platform, in a car, or in a shared home. Tango's culture of physical closeness on the dance floor does not extend to ride-share or lodging arrangements; consent and personal boundaries apply fully here.
- No solicitation of dance favors, private lessons, or any other exchange as a condition of a ride or room.
2. Ride-Sharing Etiquette
- Cost-sharing, not a taxi service. Arrangements should be for splitting fuel, tolls, and travel costs among people going to the same event — not run as a for-profit transport business, unless you hold the appropriate commercial license required in your jurisdiction.
- Be honest about departure times, luggage space, detours, and smoking/pet preferences before confirming.
- Confirm or cancel promptly. Last-minute cancellations strand people far from home — give as much notice as possible.
- Drivers: hold a valid license and appropriate insurance for carrying passengers. Passengers: wear seatbelts and follow the driver's vehicle rules.
3. Lodging-Sharing Etiquette
- Hosts should accurately describe the space (private room vs. shared floor, bedding, bathroom access, distance to the venue) and any house rules (quiet hours, guests, shoes, pets, cooking) before a guest commits.
- Guests should respect the host's home, house rules, and privacy, and communicate arrival/departure times clearly.
- Practice dancing, playing music, or hosting after-milonga gatherings in a shared home should be discussed and agreed to in advance, not assumed.
- No use of a listed lodging space for any purpose other than what was agreed (e.g., subletting, parties not disclosed to the host).
4. Honesty and Identity
- Use your real name and an accurate profile. Impersonation or fake profiles are grounds for removal.
- Reviews and ratings should reflect genuine experiences. Do not offer or accept payment, discounts, or favors in exchange for a review.
5. Zero-Tolerance Behaviors
The following result in immediate suspension pending review:
- Sexual harassment, assault, or unwanted physical contact
- Threats, violence, or intimidation
- Discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Theft, property damage, or fraud
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Any illegal activity conducted through or facilitated by the platform
6. Reporting
If something goes wrong, report it through the in-app report function or [support contact]. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first (911 in Argentina, or the local equivalent at your event's location) — the platform is not a substitute for emergency response.
7. Consequences
Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the platform, at Connectango's discretion. Serious violations (safety threats, illegal conduct) may be reported to local authorities.
Part 2: Legal Disclaimer
The following is a general-purpose template, not legal advice. Ride-sharing and short-term lodging are regulated differently in every country and often every city your users will travel to for tango events — have a lawyer licensed in your primary operating jurisdiction(s) review and adapt this before publishing.
1. Platform Role
Connectango is a technology platform that connects members of the Argentine tango community to independently arrange shared transportation and lodging. Connectango is not a transportation carrier, taxi or rideshare company, travel agency, hotel operator, property manager, or lodging provider. We do not own, operate, or control any vehicle or property listed or discussed through the platform.
2. No Agency or Employment Relationship
Drivers, hosts, passengers, and guests are independent users of the platform, not employees, agents, contractors, or representatives of Connectango. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between Connectango and any user.
3. User Responsibility for Legal Compliance
Users are solely responsible for ensuring their own compliance with all applicable laws, including but not limited to:
- Local transportation, rideshare, and cost-sharing regulations (which vary significantly by country, province, and city)
- Vehicle insurance, licensing, and registration requirements
- Short-term rental, lodging, tourism, and zoning laws applicable to their property
- Tax obligations arising from any payments exchanged
- Immigration and visa requirements relevant to cross-border tango travel
Connectango makes no representation that any arrangement facilitated through the platform is lawful in every jurisdiction where our users travel.
4. No Verification or Background Checks
Unless explicitly stated for a specific feature, Connectango does not independently verify users' identities, driving records, criminal history, vehicle safety, property safety, or insurance coverage. Users are responsible for exercising their own judgment and due diligence — including meeting in public first when possible, verifying details directly with the other party, and trusting their own instincts — before entering a vehicle or a home arranged through the platform.
5. Assumption of Risk
Use of ride-sharing and lodging-sharing arrangements made through Connectango is voluntary and at each user's own risk. Connectango is not responsible for the conduct — online or offline — of any user, including but not limited to accidents, injury, property damage, theft, loss, or disputes arising from a shared ride or shared lodging arrangement.
6. No Warranties
The platform and all information exchanged through it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, safety, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Connectango, its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of life, personal injury, or property damage arising from or related to use of the platform or any arrangement made through it.
8. Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Connectango from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from their use of the platform, their violation of these terms, or their violation of any law or third-party right.
9. Insurance
Connectango does not provide insurance coverage for rides, vehicles, or lodging arranged through the platform. Users should confirm their own auto, home, and/or travel insurance covers activities arranged through the app, including cross-border coverage where relevant.
10. Disputes Between Users
Any dispute arising between a driver/host and a passenger/guest is between those users. Connectango may, at its discretion, assist with mediation but is under no obligation to resolve disputes and is not a party to any agreement users make with each other.
11. Eligibility
Users must be at least [18] years old and legally able to enter into binding agreements to use ride-share or lodging-share features.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
[Insert governing law clause and arbitration/jurisdiction terms appropriate to where the company is incorporated — this varies based on your business registration and should be set with counsel.]
13. Changes to This Disclaimer
Connectango may update this disclaimer and the Community Guidelines from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Last updated: [date]. This document should be reviewed by a licensed attorney familiar with transportation, short-term rental/lodging, platform liability, and cross-border consumer law in each jurisdiction where the app operates, given that Argentine tango events regularly draw international travelers.
